Scope and Contents
The Oakland University Historical Sound Recordings collection includes recordings of early Oakland University events, from 1959 through the early 1980s. The events are administrative, cultural and academic in nature. Of particular note to Oakland University's history are groundbreaking ceremonies and the cornerstone ceremony for Wilson Hall (during which Matilda Wilson gave a 2-minute speech), as well as numerous commencements. The collection also includes recordings of invited speakers, some recordings of Meadow Brook Music Festival performances, and more.
