Scope and Contents note
The Information Technology collection consists of materials developed by various faculty and departments to improve the overall organization and processing of OU’s computer networks and telecommunications. Items included are strategic plans and suggestions for IT programs and developments; user guides and manuals; memos; long-range study and summary reports on various IT initiatives; and materials related to educational programs and trainings offered on campus. All materials were developed between 1975 and 2001, although not all years/decades are represented within that span of time.

History
Information Technology at Oakland University began in the early 1970s with the development of campus-wide computer systems available to faculty, staff, and students. Since that time, OU has made a commitment to continuing the development of reliable and updated IT programs and resources on campus through a variety of initiatives that have taken place over the years.
