The Oakland University Capital Campaigns collection documents the institution's 3 major capital campaigns in the 1980s, in 2005-2009, and starting in 2018. Materials include some planning documents such as consultant reports and fundraising events, as well as case statements and other publications. The collection is organized chronologically by campaign.

History
Oakland University's leadership first investigated the feasability of a capital campaign in 1982, when a fundraising consultant was commissioned. The campaign was officially launched in fall 1984 on the occasion of the university's 25th birthday, and continued into the late 1980s. Another capital campaign was later conducted between 2005 and 2009 and a third one started in 2018.
