The Oakland University Photograph collection consists of photographic prints, transparencies, negatives, and contact sheets that document the history of all aspects of Oakland University since its founding. The collection was organized topically over years of OU's development. The collection does not include digital images, which can be found in other collections.

History
Oakland University (OU or Oakland) is a public research university in Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills, Michigan. Founded in 1957 through a donation of Matilda Dodge Wilson and her husband Alfred G. Wilson, it was initially known as Michigan State University-Oakland, operating under the Michigan State University Board of Trustees, before gaining institutional independence in 1970.
