Scope and Contents note
The Environmental Project Committee collections consists of files produced by the committee and its leader, Brian Murphy, while working on the committee's projects in 1993. The files have been preserved in their original order. While the provenance is unknown, handwriting and notes suggest they belonged to Brian Murphy. A grant application to the Kellogg Foundation is included, as well as documentation on other foundations and some of the events planned by the committee.

History
The Environmental Project Committee was set up in 1993 to organize projects heightening awareness of environmental problems, particularly issues regarding water and other natural resources. The committee planned a symposium, public lectures, film and theatrical presentations, and an exhibition to be held in fall 1994. The committee was composed of 15 faculty members representing various departments and was led by Brian Murphy, director of the Honors College, who also offered a course on "Environmental pressures on our planet."
