History
Macomb Community College and Oakland University have engaged in numerous collaborative academic partnerships since the late 1980s. Goals for these partnerships, in most cases, have been to extend the reach of both institutions' scholarship to enrolled students.
One of the most extensive partnerships was the Macomb 2 Oakland program, which served as an academic "pipeline" between students beginning their academic careers at Macomb Community College, who would eventually transfer to Oakland University to complete their degrees. Plans for this program began in 1989, with the program officially launching in the early 1990s.
