Scope and Contents note

While recordings held or done by George Preisinger can be found throughout Oakland University's Archives, the materials in this collection were donated by Preisinger upon his retirement. They document events held at Oakland University through several decades, including OU's 50th anniversary (1999), the Elliott Tower construction and 2014 dedication, faculty and staff talent shows, athletic events, and much more.

Biographical/Historical note

George Preisinger started his career at Oakland University in 1979 in the audiovisual unit of the library. In 1982 he became manager of the Instructional Technology Center, which combined the audiovisual unit with the Performing Arts Library. He remained at Oakland University in various audiovisual services positions until his retirement in 2018. During his longstanding career at OU he gathered numerous still and moving images of Oakland University events and programs and made sure they were preserved.
