Scope and Contents note

From the Collection:

The Oakland University Student Activism collection contains informational materials created by, or in relation to, student social and political activism movements in the 1960s and 1970s, both on-campus and off-campus. It was artificially assembled from materials found in various archival collections.

Of particular interest are flyers and writings by the OU chapter of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), the Association of Black Students (ABS), and women's rights groups. They document students' views on the Vietnam War, race relations, and other political topics of the day, as well as events organized on the university's campus.

Items within the collection are arranged according to subject, and have been arranged in two series: Campus Issues and Non-Campus Issues.
